The Pixel 4a ……..Worth Every Pixel?

After so much wait the Pixel 4a is here and it might as well be the best Pixel we get to see in 2020.
pixel 3a and pixel 3a xl were a huge success from google with their straight forward purpose of making a stock android phone with a killer camera that anyone can buy, the pixel 4a double downs on it and simplifies it further.gone are the different sizes(normal and XL) and gone are the colors, storage options now its more like a one size fits all device

starting with the specs there not much of a jump here, with the snapdragon 730G its still a mid-range chip and it's not gonna shatter any smoothness records, as mentioned earlier it's a one size fits all device that means there is only one variant with 128GB storage and 6GB ram and is only available in the color “Just Black” all of this for the one price of 349$.
Now for some people, lack of choice would be a deal-breaker but if you ask me this one option has made the pixel4a’s sale easier, like the 128GB storage is the basic standard a couple of years ago it was 64GB and like 5 years ago it was 16GB. The same goes for the screen and the ram, a 5.8 inch FHD+ OLED and 6GB ram are just ON POINT.

The same cannot be said about the camera because it's just phenomenal and get me, I am not saying its good for the price, I am saying it is amazing camera PERIOD, honestly props to google for pulling this off and bringing another banger of a camera to such a low price all thanks to google’s post-processing, but this makes you think about what could have been because the hardware used here (f 1.7,12.2MP) is nothing amazing.so what if google used something like the Nord’s primary camera hardware (BTW if you need a battle of the budgets lemme know in the comments below). The camera is not only the best part of the phone its also the biggest missed opportunity.

At the end we come to design and its the most obvious place where google has saved money by going with a plastic unibody design, a physical rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and the mint color power button(which is honestly kinda cool).BTW we still have the headphone jack so yey! (but does it really matter in 2020).
miscellaneous: the battery with a capacity of 3140 mah and 18W fast charging is quite average and will last most people through their day, the stereo speakers are good for content consumption and its quite good to have em here and the overall aesthetic of the phone is super clean which some people would love and other might hate.
verdict: Google with the Pixel 4a has tried to create a phone that everyone can buy with their eyes closed. sure the design and specs are nothing to run home about and with the lack of any micro-sd card slot expansion is zero but with that amazing camera, the fact that this is a pixel so you get 3 years of software updates and special pixel features and the headphone jack(if that still matters to you)all for 349$ makes this a really good competitor for not only the Nord but also any other budget phone. apparently there is a 5g version of it in the works which might cost 150$ more.so if you care about your photos or are just planning to buy an inexpensive phone for a teenager or someone older, the pixel seems like an amazing choice with quite fewer pitfalls.
Peace Out.
